Express your creativity in your wardrobe!  Silk scarves are wonderful accessories that can lift your spirits and add a dash of artistic drama to your appearance. Learn basic dyeing techniques that will allow you to create a beautiful hand painted scarf in a few hours!  Creative ways to tie and wear your new scarf will also be demonstrated. ABC's of Altered Books

Give new life to old books!  Unlike scrapbooking, altered books are old books which are recycled into unique works of art.  Using a variety of mixed media, collage and basic paper crafting techniques, participants will learn how to embellish and decorate the “canvas” pages.  With a few tools, materials and your imagination, you can create inspirational holiday gifts or journals of self-expression. No previous art experience required. Bring a used hard cover book, UHU glue stick and notebook to class. Additional embellishment supplies will be discussed at first class.  Students will also need to purchase altered book text resource.

   Supplies: Exacto knife, small cutting mat ,brush for gel medium, UHU glue stick, small jar matte gel medium, wax paper, old telephone book ,baby wipes, old credit card, small hand dryer, old towel, sponge brush, large clip binders
