ARTIST IN RESIDENCE PROGRAMS

"One picture is worth a thousand words." Making art is a basic human urge, a trait of our species as natural as language and social interaction.  Art is a universal, powerful form of communication and self expression.  Making art can also be part of the healing process for individuals experiencing a health challenge or recovery process in a healthcare setting.

Milostan Creativity has custom designed successful Artist in Residence (AIR) healing arts programs for a variety of community settings.  An AIR is not an art therapist, rather an artist which provides individuals with materials, time and an opportunity to discover their own hope, expression and spirit during the healing process and translate them into visual images. AIRs facilitate a positive, creative experience for the whole person, not just the health issue.

Today individuals are looking for alternative, supplemental sources of healing. An AIR program enhances care and adds substantially to the healing benefits of a healthcare environment. By utilizing the arts, healthcare institutions can attract more patients, stand out from their competition and best of all enhance and expand the quality of care for the patient.
